It was too nice outside today (70s easily) to not go for a dog walk. I called up my friend LA and we hit the trail!  This is the closest we have gotten the dogs in a line to walking :)

It was St. Patrick's Day, but i didn't get any good crazy green drunk people pictures - I don't like be in bars or around drunk people so alas none of those.  However, the geese decided to take a walk down my street - came up on the edge of my yard take a few nibbles then head off!

The Poudre River was looking so peaceful and all the snow is melted around it. Soon this will be green with new leaves and higher water leaves.

Spring is near.  These are my tulips that are coming up through the dirt and mulch!  I'm so excited. I also got more bulbs for hopeful flowers to bloom throughout spring and summer!

It's the day of Pi... so in honor of said day I made cake... it's actually Boston Creme Pie Cake! :)

Reno madness - phase one (sort of).  It's the last room in the house that hasn't been painted.  Have all the supplies just didn't have the time.  The room is now prepped for painting.  It will be a bit before the rest is done: replacing the vanity, mirror, cabinet and trim - soon!

Last day in Chi-town, it was foggy and rainy our last few days... which was okay with me. I know I could never live in a big city - I need grass, open spaces, and the ability to walk around without having someone impede my personal bubble.  I'll stick to visiting!  Very ready to go home!

The Silver BEAN!  Finally got a chance to visit and take pictures of the bean.  I though it was cool how the bean looked like the chicago buildings/skyline right next to the actual buildings. very cool sculpture!

Went to the Adler Planetarium.  This was one of the educational pieces - actually the first type of planetarium that you actually ride a little car up into and the close down to make it darker.  Inside are pin holes in the mental and the globe rotates around to show accurate representations of the stars and constellations - Amazing!

Random leg sculpture just south of the Art Institute of Chicago.  I thought it was odd, interesting and a little like what it would be if we were all just walking around unaware of the amazing things we have in our life and the wonderful moments we often miss in life because we just run around busy with being busy.

Exploring Chicago at night with LA's brother and Sister In Law... I thought this building was really cool and very castle like!

One of the best things about going to TPE was getting to see Danielle and catch up!  How I miss this woman and definitely need to find time and a way out to see her soon!  Miss you D!

We finally made it to Chicago, it was an interesting trip from the beginning.  There were two guys on our flight who didn't enjoy the tweeners behind them and stated "I need a cigarette, drink and a shovel to deal with those kids" as stated by Mike through out time there.  Additionally, we went to catch our shuttle and the guy who greeted us was like a leprechaun, interesting to say the least.
One of the great things we happened to stumble upon was Trader Joe's, how I miss TJs and it was only 2 blocks away! :)

Max was enjoying looking outside, wondering what other dogs or people outside were doing.  I was home for a brief few days between OPE and NASPA.  It was nice to be home and with the critters!

I got home from OPE and Garmin was chillin' pretty close to me that night and for some reason his little tongue was sticking out. He's a goofy little cat with a quirky personality.  For some reason he wanted that tongue out - i tried to touch it to go back in but nothing :)

By far two of my favorite things about going to OPE and places that bring back fond memories of La Crosse.  Erbert & Gerbets is a sub shop that has great sandwiches but funny names!  We use to go there to get subs on the way home from the bars and other times of course!  Toppers has amazing cheesey breadsticks and they are probably one of the worst things ever but tastes soooo good!

February 26th, 2010

February 26th, 2010 - We were at the OPE social they had various waters around and one of them was with cucumbers.  I thought this was very bizarre and thus took a picture of it!  It did in fact taste like a cucumber... go figure!

February 25th, 2010 - While we were at OPE in Wisconsin, we got to see Amanda Daul.  Previous RD and all around great person!  Its fun to connect with people you haven't seen in awhile!
